Ready for an Italian Summer?

Next Summer might be a record season for tourism in Italy, with arrivals from extra EU countries growing up to 4.8% in July and August. According to a survey by Corriere della Sera and ForwardKeys, tourist will mostly come from Australia, Japan and US, but Brazilians and Chinese will also be massively travelling to Belpaese.

Rome, Florence and Milan are expected to be the most requested destinations, although Catania, Palermo and Venice will be experiencing very promising trends, as foreign visitors will grow +9.6%, +8% and +8% in these three cities. Incoming tourism is encouraged by some new flight connections – think of Flydubai and Emirates, which announced new routes to reach Italy at affordable costs. But it’s the unique combination of natural beauties, historical and cultural heritage, great food and fabulous shopping which makes Italy such special.

When extra EU travelers come to Italy for the first time, they do not want to miss anything. As printed guidebooks are definitely over, digital and mobile tools are particularly appreciated. Movibell is the innovative mobile app to discover interesting places or objects while moving around, simply using the smartphone or tablet PC as a true personal Radar.

What can tourists find on Movibell? About 6,500 monuments, palaces, archeological sites, museums, exhibitions, theatres and libraries are geo-located across Italy, offering a new, surprising way to explore cities and territories. With Movibell, it’s the single point of interest which calls out for people: after installing the mobile app on their devices, users just need to walk around the city. When coming within 200 meters from a palace, museum or theatre, it notifies its own presence with its typical bell ring, sharing updates and news, events and other interactive contents.

A chatbot is also available to invite users to experience Movibell via Facebook Messenger, playing with their knowledge of some popular Italian monuments. The platform is extremely versatile, and it is being enriched with shops, restaurants, hotels, and any other geo-located business.

If you are planning your holiday in Italy, do try Movibell – it is available both in English and Italian, and can be downloaded for free from Apple Store and Google Play. The personal Radar is ready for you!
